1- Preterm labor

Dr. Garima informed “according to a study in Gynecology 50 t0 60 percent of multiple pregnancies take into labor in just 37 weeks. The shortening of pregnancy time period depends upon the number of fetus into the womb. More fetuses indicate lessening of pregnancy time period. Early birth or preterm labor contains the risk of immature or undeveloped babies.”

2- Miscarriage

In multiple pregnancies, risk of Miscarriage increases by 3 times in the first trimester and also remains rest of the time period of pregnancy. Multiple pregnancies pose higher risk of miscarriage reason being vanishing twin syndrome in which more than one fetus diagnosed. During the miscarriage in multiple pregnancies, there are more chances that bleeding will not take place.

3- Birth Defect
